Enjoy a 40-minute immersive and interactive experience inside the enclosures, where you'll have the opportunity to play with, hold, and snuggle animals such as a raccoon, opossum, or fennec fox  — it’s totally up to you!

• Two animals – 20 minutes in each enclosure
• Three animals – 13 minutes in each enclosure

This one-hour private guided viewing tour takes you through the Chinchilla Room, Reptile Barn, the compound, Raptor Mews, and the animal food prep area. Afterward, enjoy an up-close meet & greet with 4 selected animals at our presentation area — with opportunities to touch, hold, and interact.

Join us for a 2-hour immersive private guided tour through the Chinchilla Room, Reptile Barn, the compound, Raptor Mews, and the animal food prep area. You'll meet all 50 of our resident animals, with hands-on opportunities to interact with 43 of them (excluding the raptors). Depending on the species, many are able to be held!

Get up close and personal with snakes, lizards, chinchillas, pigs, goats, great horned owls, a wolfdog, a Jindo, opossums, red-tailed hawks, a kookaburra, a barn owl, a savannah cat, and more. You’ll also get some snuggle and playtime inside the raccoon and fennec fox enclosures!

NO BUSES, NO PERMISSION SLIPS! A love of animals and nature begins as a child. Encourage this appreciation of wildlife through fun and educational animal presentations at your school with Critter Encounters in San Diego, California. All programs are grade-appropriate and follow the California State Science Standards.

Our one hour assemblies and classroom programs include five to six animals and are designed to provide hands-on learning of habitats, adaptations, natural history of specific species, as well as some conservation tips-all while allowing touching opportunities with most of the critters. Our fun, up close, hands-on presentation style encourages a love of science and a love of learning.

Each of our education alanimal programs can be as general as you like, or can be specifically customized to complement 

topics already being discussed in your classroom (i.e. grade specific CA State Science Standards). The animals can be incorporated into science themes such as 'Adaptations', 'Habitats', 'Conservation', etc.

Please try to book your program two to three weeks in advance. We require a deposit 10 days prior to your event date, 

and final payment is due at the conclusion of the program.

In an hour and a half your Daisies, Brownies, or Juniors can earn their animal badge in a fun and interactive way.  We come to your meeting location (community center, school, or home) and provide the badge curriculum, live animals, and touching opportunities! All for just $25 a girl.
